The Brave Bubble Coral

The Bubble Coral is just one of the corals struggling to survive. Corals are impacted by overfishing, pollution, and warming waters. If properly managed, coral reefs can yield an average of 15 tons of fish and other seafood per square kilometer (.4 square miles) per year. Coral reefs support 6 million fishers in nearly 100 countries.

We can make a difference in our local community by living sustainably. Live Sustainably. Reducing your carbon footprint is one way to fight the effects of global warming and lessen large-scale threats to reef ecosystems. Take small but powerful steps like switching to compact fluorescent light bulbs, planting native trees, recycling, buying energy-efficient cars, avoiding pesticides, and teleconferencing instead of flying when possible.
